Developed by OneBlink for SafeWork NSW, the Speak Up, Save Lives App is a finalist in the 2020 NSW Government's Premier's Awards.

The first product of its kind for an Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulator, the ‘Speak Up Save Lives’ app was designed to improve the safety outcomes particularly of young workers and for workers most at risk of injury or death in NSW workplaces.

SafeWork NSW drew on a wide range of community insights and determined that specific 'at risk worker' groups often felt they couldn’t speak up about WHS concerns for fear of repercussions, like job loss or the loss of a work visa.

By working with industries and communities SafeWork NSW set about introducing a digital and translatable tool making it easier for people to confidentially raise WHS issues.

Darren Besgrove, CEO of OneBlink said “from the very outset of this project we could see the passion of the SafeWork team and the community good that it would deliver. This was a great project to be involved in, extremely fast delivery times and so gratifying to see the community takeup across all mediums - web, PWA and native app.”
